the "emma" jeffrey campbell + stolengirlfriendsclub is a shoe I have been wanting for a while.  it perfectly embodies my ridiculous and westerny cowboy leanings.  BUT if you look at the opening page to the stolengirlfriendsclub website there are the emma boots in nude and black... but for sale there is only brown and nude/beige and black with gold....!!!!  I realllllllly like the nude and black ones and I don't know if it was just a sample, but I only want those ones.. =(  they are alllll over the sites store and lookbook.  way to rub it in!

one step at a time...

so..... a new vintage store opened down the street from me called "used".  it is amazingly organized and inviting.  Of course I had to buy something.  It is reasonably priced, but priced high enough that I won't be trapped there once or twice a week. =)  They had this "ivory" ram head/skull thing that I wanted to buy and make into a necklace... but I don't think it is actually ivory... it looked like resine that MAY have been mixed with ivory... but it looked like it had drips.  anyway, dude told me it was ivory, but probably because he was told.  I would have bought it if he didn't say it was ivory or if it actually was.  it would feel like I was wearing a lie... even if I didn't pretend it was........ anyway, I bought this portfolio and bolo necktie/watch thing!  yay!

pretty nifty, right?!  well, now I have to go get a watch battery.  another thing on my long lists of "to-do"'s... yay.

while I was shopping...

well, I wasn't really "shopping"... more the internet equivalent to window shopping....!  (insert clever made up word of choice joining internet, window and shopping or whateve).  ANYWAY, I was looking at the site Lookbook.nu and there was an ad for Pixie Market there and it featured a boot I could only assume was a Jeffrey Campbell creation because I instantly had to find it online and stare at it!  Only... I couldn't find it.... not the pixie market site.... no where.  BUT I found this dress I like, but can't justify buying.  but if I had a need for a dress, this would be it.   

AND this dress is featured with the freakin boot I want!  bah!

I googled variations of "jeffrey campbell western"and came up with various blog showing different colour combinations of this boot... but none actually linking to a site to purchase said boot!  arrrrrg!!  I have always loved cowboy stylings and even originally had thought of naming my etsy shop "cowboys and indians". In short, gimme.

Spring Time Resolution: in like a lamb; out like a lion!

... so I am still in the process, but final stages of, organizing my clothes... especially the non-vintage, but also the vintage.  Chris got us a new and longer desk which makes it more comfortable (and aesthetically pleasing) to sit in front of the computer.  I have a little bit of an attention issue, so sitting in front of the computer is hard for me.  However, I promise to get better at this.  I have soooo much vintage to list that it's ridiculous that I have not put more up yet.  Between my attention span and my kitten obsessed with destruction it is really hard to get any real momentum.  The past two, three weeks I have been training for serving at the restaurant I work at so I can start making up for the money lost when I quit managing a store (to have more time to do all of this organizing and take acting classes).  A friend sent me a link to a great deal for acting classes that only had a few hours left before it expired.  They are for Second City.  Nice to go to places that have a good reputation ESPECIALLY when you pay 1/3 of what the classes normally cost!  phewf!  Anyway, my spring time resolution:  get on all this and keep to my time goals....!!!!

My Acting Playdate.

Here is the ad my coworkers put together with the help of a lot of great people.  If you are single and living in Toronto, this would be a great night out.  With everyone joining sites like plentyoffish, etc why not actually get a chance to sit face to face with people to see if you have a connection with them.... not just trolling their profiles.  Get back to the good ol' days of face to face interaction.  do it!  Playdate Events.

a little somin'-somin'

The other day I got to stretch my acting legs a little to help out a co-worker.
I went to work and she asked "would you be in an ad tomorrow?"  I said, "ya, sure."
She said "really?" I said "ya".
Then she said, "it's at 8 am, is that ok?" I said "ya....."  =)
usually 8 am is nothing, but for that past month I had been sleeping in until like... 1 pm.  so ya.  It all happened at a diner that has been in the newly cool neighbourhood of Dundas and Ossington for decades.  I had lived in that neighbourhood precoolness when it was all boarded up except 3 vintage stores, 1 bakery and a hardware store.  Now it has a gourmet pizza place... gourmet soup... etc etc.  weird.  ... anyyyway.  I lived right over this diner I got to do a wee bit of acting in.  kinda weird and full circle-ish... but not really...
Annnnyway(2), It was fun!  my portion lasted about 5 minutes, but it was nice to be doing annnnything related to what I want to do.  I got some great feedback.  I can't do something else!  let's do it!  =)

When the video surfaces I will post it with the permission of the lovely ladies in charge.

So I have finally posted one and soon two (once I figure out why my photo's are not right side up!) and then more items up on etsy!  sorry for the delay.  there will be at least 10 a week going up for the next few months.  I have so much clothing it makes no sense!!!  so stay tuned!  I will try to post previews before they are listed incase there is something you've been waiting for that you don't want to miss out on.

I actually end up liking the photo's that are a little blurry.  I like things to look real.  I have refused to photoshop so far.  We will see if that lasts.  I am still trying to decide whether or not I want heads in the shots or not.  I think without heads you can better picture yourself in the clothes.  I decided to under-style the outfits with as little accessories as possible for the same reason.

There are a few items I will delay on posting because I need to try them on one last time.... convince myself that I won't regret them leaving my closet for another.  But acting being a motivation will help.

Anyway, wish me luck!!!

- Chris's parents came down for the weekend, yay!
- playing around with the camera/10 year anniversary co-present Chris and I gave each other and really want to use it for the pictures.

the bad...
- photoshoot didn't turn out the way I had hoped. weather blahblahblah.  also turns out I hate tripods.
- I almost had one listing up but after the 30+ minutes it took to up load the pictures I accidentally closed the window and for some reason progress isn't saved on etsy.  boo.
- Chris has had to work from home and needed the computer (editor) so he can make some deadlines.

SORRY!  it is hurting me more than it is hurting you I am sure.

Oops!

So, don't hate me!  this is my first time, so I couldn't get my pieces up last night.  why?  I forgot to measure the items.  Obviously really important since most of my stuff is kinda comfy loose and drapey so it can fit a variety of sizes depending on how you like your clothes to fit.  so stay tuned, I am going to get a much needed extra ice triple tall light soy americano (it's a mouthful and took me a year to be able to say it without closing my eyes while reciting it...!) and some breakfast and I will get cracking!

(note: so I started the posting on etsy process and it is going to take long for that part than I though.... so Monday evening is my new and final deadline!  even if I have to wake up at 4am I am doing it.  sorry for all the delays.  again, first time and a lot of trouble shooting!)

eureka on a few things I have been looking for... yay internets.

March 15th they finally relaunched this colour.  they are a little backlogged so I have to wait a little longer to get my order... but I wannit nowww....!

finally ordered some coconut oil online since I didn't really have a chance to take a hard look in the area.
